Online interpretive narratives to highlight more than 100 CA Historical Landmarks

What stories, or mysteries, can you share that few people know about?  This series of California Historical Landmarks shares stories about people and places in history that many people don’t know.

When and why did the first competitive skiing event in North America happen in Plumas County, California?

What small town in the Sierra, where outlaws hid inside tunnels to avoid being found, did Domingo Ghirardelli sell his first chocolate candies before moving to San Francisco, California?

Arts Council Special Report

What is the impact of the arts in California communities?

The California Arts Council wanted to convince legislators, many other CA decision makers and funders about the inherent value of the arts to individuals and their respective communities. I was hired to interview arts agency executives, arts leaders and artists throughout California.

What began as a series of 4 monthly feature stories in Western City Magazine became a 20-page report demonstrating the value of the arts in California circulated to every legislator, arts council and multiple arts agencies. Download PDF at blue link on photo.

What accomplishments do you want to celebrate and share with your audience and donors every year, every quarter or every month?

The Executive Director needed the report and was without  a staff member to work on the project. She called me to ask if I could help.  The report needed to be created online using Canva to make it easier to share.

This annual report highlights a year’s worth of accomplishments to create meaningful park experiences, memorable community events, education, restoration and preservation, fundraising and special projects.  Link here to download PDF
